Description

Objectives:

  1. Discuss the characteristics of an alternative NAC regimen in pediatric patients
  2. Review adverse effects associated with an alternative NAC regimen
  3. Compare the efficacy of high-dose, intravenous, variable-length N-acetylcysteine (HINAC) therapy to other regimens
  4. Compare the incidence of adverse reactions (e.g. infusion reactions) for high-dose, intravenous, variable-length N-acetylcysteine (HINAC) therapy compared to other regimens
  5. Review clinician adherence with policy for transfer drug screens
  6. Discuss the clinical utility of such screens when obtained
  7. Compute the utility of the FAERS database to determine the burden of paradoxical drug events
  8. Estimate the limitations of the FAERS database and how to best improve its capture rate
