Objectives:

  1. Specify the incidence of embolic events after peroxide ingestions
  2. Express the predictors of outcomes in symptomatic peroxide ingestions > 10% concentration
  3. Determine the risk of disease recurrence in a large cohort of patients with Stevens-Johnson Syndrom (SJS) or Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN)
  4. Discuss short-long-term mortality risks following hospitalization for SJS/TEN in a population-based cohort.
  5. Discuss the prevalence and range of urine uranium concentrations among residents of the United States
  6. Describe the relationship between the observed urine uranium concentrations and the markers of renal function
  7. Visualize an example of cooperation between a regional poison control center and state health department in responding to a public health crisis
  8. Distinguish the potential and actual roles for poison centers in responding to public health emergencies
